Mashed potatoes are an indispensable addition to any festive table or an everyday side dish for cutlets and chops. But even such a simple dish can be easily spoiled. Often it turns out gray, and after cooling it turns into one solid lump. Therefore, to make mashed potatoes taste perfect and the texture fluffy and tender, you should add one simple ingredient - lemon zest.
The idea of making mashed potatoes with lemon zest was published by the well-known American magazine INSIDER.
Ingredients:
- potatoes
- butter
- milk
- salt, pepper
- lemon zest
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the potatoes.
2. Cut into quarters.
3. Put in a saucepan, cover with cold water and add salt.
4. Bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes.
5. While the potatoes are cooking, cut the butter into cubes and put in the refrigerator.
6. Drain the boiled potatoes and mash the vegetable.
7. Add cold butter. It will not stratify after cooling. Mix well and crush everything.
8. Add the warm milk and mash well again.
9. Add salt and pepper.
10. After the spices, add the zest of one lemon.
12. Add greens to taste.
