Mackerel is a fish that is ideal for pickling. It has very few bones and does not require much cleaning. For a spicy flavor, just add a few spices and herbs. This fish can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 6 days.

Ingredients:
- thawed mackerel
- 1,200 ml of water
- 9 tbsp coarse sea salt
- 12 bay leaves
- 1.5 tsp. black peppercorns
- 15 allspice peas
- 6 dried clove buds
Method of preparation:
1. Pour water into a saucepan and add the rest of the ingredients.
2. Boil for 3-4 minutes and leave to cool completely. Do not pour hot or even warm brine.
3. Wait until it cools down completely.
4. At this time, prepare the fish: the mackerel should be cleaned from the insides and washed well.
5. Put the fish in a container and cover it with cold brine.
6. Close the lid and put it in the refrigerator to marinate for 24 hours.
7. You can store such mackerel in the refrigerator for up to 6 days.
