Legendary "Chestnuts" cookies: how to make a popular dessert

These cookies have quite a few names: "Hedgehogs", "Truffle", "Golden Field" and, of course, "Chestnuts". For many people, this dessert is a pleasant childhood memory. Balls of very tender and soft dough are rolled in crushed wafers, making them a great addition to tea.
The idea of making the iconic Chestnuts cookies was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Tally Koroleva (tallykoroleva). This dish is perfectly stored in the refrigerator.
Ingredients for the balls:
- 5 hard-boiled egg yolks cooled
- 1 pack of soft creamy margarine or butter (250 g)
- 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise or sour cream
- 350 g of sifted flour
- waffles 3-4 packs
Method of preparation:
1. Knead the dough and form balls with 1/4 walnut in the middle. You can put a cherry inside.
2. Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
3. Cool.
4. Grind 3-4 packs of wafers not too finely.
Ingredients for the preparation of fondant:
- 6 tablespoons of milk
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa
- 100 g of butter
- 1 cup sugar (cook for 10-15 minutes)
Method of preparation:
1. Dip the cooled balls in hot fondant.
2. Roll in crushed wafers or ground nuts. Alternatively, you can roll the cookies in grated corn sticks.
