During Lent, you can't eat certain foods. However, it is also quite possible to prepare delicious dishes without using them. To do this, you need to have proven and good recipes.

This is the recipe for lean buns with poppy seeds and nuts shared by the famous food blogger Lisa Hlinska. On Instagram, she explained what to add to the dough to make the buns very soft and flavorful in detail.

Ingredients for the dough

  • flour - 250 gr
  • baking powder - 8 gr
  • sugar - 50 gr
  • salt
  • water - 100 ml
  • oil - 40 ml

Ingredients for the filling

  • poppy seeds - 100 g (can be replaced with nuts)
  • roasted walnuts - 100 g
  • sugar - 120 gr

Method of preparation

1. Combine water, oil and sugar in a deep bowl.

2. Mix flour with baking powder and add to the previous mixture. Knead the dough.

3. Wrap the dough in cling film and leave it at room temperature for 30 minutes.

4. Prepare the filling. Soak seeds in warm water for 30 minutes. Fry nuts in a dry pan or for 10 minutes in the oven at 170 degrees.

5. Strain the seeds and combine it with nuts and sugar. Blend with a blender to a paste.

6. Roll out the dough into a layer of about 30x35 cm.

7. Put the filling on the dough and roll it up.

8. Cut the roll into 3 cm pieces and place on a baking sheet covered with parchment.

9. Bake at 170 degrees for 20 minutes.

10. After the buns have cooled completely, wrap them in cling film.
