Lazy cheese pita pizza in minutes: cooked in a skillet
If you don't have time to make yeast pizza dough, pita bread is the way to go. You can simply wrap a delicious cheese filling in it and put it all in a frying pan. The dish will cook in the pan in a matter of minutes.
The idea of making pizza on pita bread was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Yana with the nickname ya.na.cooking. You only need 5 ingredients.
Ingredients:
- pita bread - 2 pieces (200 g)
- mozzarella - 180 g
- cheese - 120 g
- herbs
- butter
Method of preparation:
1. Grate the mozzarella on a coarse grater and crush the cheese separately with a fork to crumbs.
2. Finely chop the herbs (dill and parsley).
3. Cut two pita breads in half.
4. Grease a thick-bottomed frying pan well with butter on the sides and bottom.
5. Put a part of the pita bread so that it protrudes along the edges and put the other part on the bottom of the pan.
6. Top with part of the mozzarella, cheese and some herbs, cover with the other part of the pita bread and put some mozzarella, cheese and some herbs again.
7. Cover the filling with the pita bread on the sides and put the last part of the pita bread on top.
8. Carefully turn the pizza over and spread the remaining mozzarella on top.
9. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes over low heat.
10. After cooking, sprinkle with herbs.
