Korean-style cucumbers without carrots: a recipe for a quick appetizer

Korean-style cucumber salad is a budget dish for all occasions. It can be served on its own, as well as with side dishes. The most important thing when preparing a salad is the addition of savory spices and seasonings. For cucumbers to be crispy, they need to be cut properly and left to marinate well.
Chef Martin Malenets (malovanets.food) shared a recipe for Korean-style cucumber salad on his Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- cucumbers - 10 pcs (it is desirable to take small size)
- soy sauce - 50 ml
- garlic - 2 cloves
- sesame seeds - 1-2 tsp.
- dried chili pepper - 1 tsp.
- vinegar
- sugar, salt
Method of preparation:
1. First you need to wash and cut cucumbers as convenient. The recipe recommends doing it in half rings. The main thing is to cut not very thin.
2. Chop green onions and press garlic.
3. Put the cut cucumbers in a bag and add onion, garlic, sesame seeds, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar and chili. Close the bag and knead the cucumbers well with your hands to give them a so-called "massage". For best results, you can beat the cucumbers a little with a kitchen hammer.
4. Pickled cucumbers can be eaten immediately or dressed with sesame oil. However, it is better to leave them for 30 minutes to marinate. Enjoy your appetite!
