However, nutritionist Khrystyna Nedostup showed on Instagram that lentils can also be stewed with other vegetables, resulting in an incredibly tasty dish.

Ingredients

  • Green lentils - 170 gr
  • Onion - 1 pc
  • Carrot - 1 pc
  • Potatoes - 2 pcs
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Tomato paste - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper paste - ½ tbsp
  • Oil - 4 tbsp
  • Chili powder - 1 tsp
  • Red pepper - 1 tsp.
  • Black pepper - ½ tsp.
  • Salt - 1 tsp.
  • Water - 4-5 glasses

Method of preparation

1.Boil the lentils in water for 6 minutes, then drain.

2. Dice the onion, garlic, potatoes and carrots.

3. Fry the onion in a frying pan with oil, then add the carrots and continue to sauté. Then add the potatoes and sauté them as well.

4. Add garlic and tomato paste and fry well.

5. Put the lentils, salt and pepper in a saucepan and mix well.

6. Pour water over the lentils, add the stewed vegetables and let it cook for 30 minutes.
