Homemade ham is a dish that is indispensable for celebrating Christmas and the New Year. It is very important not to dry the meat during cooking as it should be soft and juicy. At the same time, it should be very appetizing and golden on top.
The idea of cooking juicy baked meat for the holidays is published on the Instagram page of a food blogger with the nickname zhuravlina_cooking. You will need a lot of garlic and bay leaves.
Ingredients:
- meat (ham) - 1.2-1.5 kg
- garlic - 5-6 cloves
- bay leaves
- mustard - 1 tbsp
- Provance herbs - 1 tsp.
- salt - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Rinse the meat and pat dry with a paper towel. Cut the garlic in half and chop the bay leaves.
2. Make deep cuts in the meat with a knife.
3. Insert the garlic and bay leaves into each cut.
4. Sprinkle with salt and rub with your hands.
5. Add a tablespoon of mustard on top and rub the meat on all sides.
6. Put the marinated meat on foil and sprinkle with a mixture of Provance herbs.
7. Wrap the foil tightly and marinate for at least 3 hours, preferably in the refrigerator overnight.
8. Put the meat in a baking dish.
9. Place in a preheated oven to 190-200 degrees for 1:40 hours. To get a golden brown on the meat, open the foil on top and bake for another 20 minutes.
10. Leave the meat in the liquid for an hour to make it juicier.
12. Then put it in clean foil, wrap it up, and put it in the refrigerator. You can eat the meat in the morning.
