How pizza is prepared in Germany: there are a few peculiarities that are included in this recipe
This pizza can be found at all Christmas markets in Germany. This dish is distinguished from the Italian version by a large amount of onions, a rather uneven shape, and not too thin dough. The pastry looks a bit like a pie.
The idea of making German pizza was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Eduard Nasirov (my_happyfood). Sour cream is used here instead of tomato sauce.
What kind of dough is suitable:
- fresh (water and flour)
- yeast
Ingredients for the filling:
- 200 ml of fatty sour cream or cream cheese
- 2-3 onions, chopped
- salt and pepper - to taste
- 150 g of grated gouda/gruyere cheese
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 2-3 tbsp of olive oil
- 100 g of Circassian/paneer/halloumi cheese (optional)
Method of preparation:
1. Cut the onion into thin half rings and fry until golden brown in olive oil for 10 minutes over high heat.
2. Simmer and add a little water if necessary.
3. Simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
4. Roll out the dough and grease it with sour cream.
5. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
6. Put the onion, sprinkle with spices and grated cheese.
7. Put the diced paneer and send it to the oven preheated to 250 degrees for 7-10 minutes until the top becomes golden brown.
