Homemade veal sandwich instead of fast food burgers: how to cook
To make the sandwich really satisfying, use baked meat instead of sausage. It will be a great alternative to burgers from popular fast food restaurants. Instead of traditional buns, you can use plain bread.
The idea of making a hearty veal sandwich was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Ilona with the nickname thefoodhub.by_ilona. To make the bread crispy, you need to toast it a little in a frying pan.
Ingredients:
- veal neck - 300 g
- 1 onion
- 1-2 tbsp of flour
- lettuce leaves
- a ball of mozzarella
- 3 slices of cheese
- 2 large pieces of bread
- 2-3 tbsp of mayonnaise
- 2 tsp of French mustard
- 2 small pickled cucumbers
- butter for frying
- salt, pepper to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Brush the meat with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Fry on all sides in olive oil until golden brown.
2. Put in the oven at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes (the time depends on the size of the piece of meat.
3. Meanwhile, cut the onion into rings, add flour and mix. Fry in sunflower oil until golden brown.
4. Chop the lettuce and cheese. Cut the meat into thin slices.
5. Fry the bread in butter.
6. For the sauce, chop the pickled cucumbers very finely, add mayonnaise and mustard, mix well.
7. Assemble the sandwich, spread the sauce on both pieces of bread.
8. Put mozzarella, lettuce, meat, onions, cheese on one slice and cover with the second slice of bread.
9. Fry in butter until the cheese is melted, or you can simply heat it in the microwave.
