Homemade thin pita bread on water: fried in a pan
Instead of buying thin pita bread for shawarma in a store, it will be much easier and more affordable to make it at home. You can wrap the filling immediately after cooking, and the dough will not dry out.
The idea of making homemade thin pita bread was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Lyudmyla Dyhdalo (l.dyhdalo_diet). The products are fried in a regular frying pan.
Ingredients:
- wheat flour - 350 g
- boiling water - 220 g
- sunflower oil - 20 g
- salt - 3/4 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Combine boiling water with oil.
2. Pour into the flour.
3. Salt and knead the dough, being careful not to burn yourself.
4. Leave for 20-30 minutes under the film.
5. Later divide into equal parts.
6. Form into balls and roll out one at a time.
7. Cook on a dry frying pan on both sides.
8. Cover each hot pita bread with cling film.
