Homemade ketchup: you won't tell the difference from a store-bought one

Homemade ketchup is a safe alternative to store-bought sauce. It is very easy to make at home. You can add apples and peppers, as well as spicy spices, for a bright flavor.
Food blogger Varvara with the nickname valerikiry on her Instagram page shared a recipe for homemade tomato ketchup for winter.
Ingredients:
- tomatoes - 3.5 kg
- onion - 500 g
- apples - 600 g
- sweet pepper - 4 pcs
- hot pepper - 1 pc
- garlic - 2 heads
- bay leaf - 3 pcs
- 9% vinegar - 40 ml
- cinnamon - 0.5 tsp.
- sugar - 4 tbsp.
- salt - 1.5 tbsp. l.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash and cut the tomatoes into four pieces, transfer to a saucepan and put on fire. Bring to a boil and drain the juice formed during cooking.
2. Chop onion, apples, sweet and hot peppers and garlic. Add the prepared ingredients to the total mass, as well as bay leaves. Bring the mass to a boil, turn down the heat and stew for 20 minutes. When the allotted time has passed, take out the bay leaves.
3. The resulting mass should be whipped with a blender and passed through a sieve.
4. Add salt, sugar, vinegar and cinnamon. Put on fire and boil for 15 minutes.
5. Pour the hot ketchup into sterile jars and seal with lids. Done!
