Instead of the usual mashed potatoes, you can make a gourmet gratin. It's a complete dish that includes vegetables, meat, and cheese. Just what you need for lunch.
The idea of making a hearty potato gratin with bacon was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Olha Riabenko (olga_riabenko_). Cut the potatoes into slices.
Ingredients:
- potatoes (large) - 6 pcs.
- bacon - 220 g
- hard cheese - 200 g
- garlic - 1-2 cloves
- cream 33% - 500 ml
- salt, pepper - to taste
- nutmeg
Method of preparation:
1. Peel potatoes and cut them into very thin slices.
2. Chop bacon and fry in a pan for 7 minutes.
3. Grate cheese on a medium grater.
4. Grease a baking dish with butter and a chopped garlic clove.
5. Spread half of the potatoes and bacon in the baking dish evenly.
6. Season with salt and pepper and add nutmeg.
7. Grate or finely chop garlic and put it on the potatoes.
8. Put half of the cheese and cover with cream.
9. Then put the potatoes, salt, pepper, cheese and cream again.
10. Bake at 165 degrees for 1.2 hours.
11. It can be served as a separate dish or as a side dish, for example, with meat.
