Healthy apple snack cookies for children: no need to add sugar
Children always prefer different sweets to healthy foods. So you can make safe and very nutritious sweets at home. Apples are perfect for the base. They can be used to make very simple cookies that will be convenient to take to school for a snack.
The idea of making apple cookies for a snack for children was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Irina Galla(iragalla.pro.health). It is prepared without adding sugar.
Ingredients:
- apples - 1 cup grated
- raisins (light or dark) - 90 g
- whole wheat flour - 70-80 g
- psyllium - 2 tbsp (optional, if not, you can replace it with 2 tablespoons of flour)
- baking soda slaked with lemon juice - 1 tsp.
- peanut butter - 1/4 cup (50-60 g)
Method of preparation:
1. Mix the grated apples with raisins, lemon juice (2 tbsp) and psyllium (if not, with flour).
2. Cover the plate and let it stand in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes. (If you are in a hurry, you can skip this step).
3. Next, add the peanut butter, baking soda, cinnamon, and flour.
4. Knead the dough, it will be a little sticky - this is normal.
5. Roll out the dough 1-2 cm thick (preferably on parchment) and put it in a 180 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.
6. Take out the finished cake and let it rest for a while.
7. Then cut into squares.
