Expert names four products you should not buy in supermarkets
If you don't want to harm your body, we strongly advise you to never buy certain products from the supermarket.
The Mirror found out what products you shouldn't buy in stores with the help of experts.
Unpasteurized milk
For example, Dr. Bryan Quoc Le, a food chemist and industrial consultant from Washington State, says he will never buy unpasteurized milk from a supermarket. According to the expert, such milk is not heat-treated, and as a result, it retains harmful microbes such as salmonella, E. coli, listeria, brucella, etc.
Sliced products
If you want to buy sliced foods in the supermarket, you need to be prepared to encounter the same germs as when you consume unpasteurized milk. The fact is that we will never know what exactly was chopped on the slicer before the food you choose got there.
Sprouts
Professor Kali Kniel, a microbiologist at the University of Delaware, says that you should not buy sprouts of radishes, alfalfa, clover, etc. Although they are a great and nutritious addition to any meal, the expert has found that they can contain harmful bacteria such as E. coli and salmonella.
Sliced melon
A sliced melon or watermelon is also not trustworthy. The cut area is a susceptible environment for bacterial growth due to its "moist and porous properties". Therefore, you should either completely refuse to consume melon or watermelon sliced in the supermarket or cut off a few centimeters before eating it.
