Delicious apple pie in a new way: what will make the pastry special
Apple pie is a favorite home-made pastry. It can be prepared in a new way with cottage cheese and custard. The dessert just melts in your mouth.
Food blogger Yulia Fedorenko (fedorenko_pp) shared a recipe for apple pie with cottage cheese and custard on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- cottage cheese - 120 g
- egg white - 2 pcs
- baking powder
- sweetener
- flour - 40 g
The filling:
- apples - 400 g
- sweetener
- cinnamon
Cream:
- milk - 300 g
- egg yolk - 2 pcs
- corn starch - 15 g
Method of preparation:
1. First, prepare the dough. To do this, mash the cottage cheese and egg yolks.
2. Add the sweetener, baking powder and flour. Mix until smooth.
3. The next step is the filling. To make the filling, cut the apples into small cubes and put them in a frying pan. Sprinkle with sweetener and cinnamon. Simmer under the lid until the apples are soft.
4. Next, cover the mold with parchment. Tamp the curd mass first, then put the apples on top. Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes.
5. While the cake is baking, prepare the custard. To do this, pour milk into a saucepan and put it on the fire.
6. At the same time, mix the egg yolks, starch and sweetener. When the milk begins to boil, add the resulting mass to it. The finished cream should be thick.
7. Pour the resulting cream evenly over the pie and bake the pie in the oven until golden brown.
