Pita is not only a base for making shawarma or appetizers but also for delicious home baking. You can make a roll supplemented with different fillings like cottage cheese, fresh berries and fruits and poppy seeds.

Food blogger Iriya Dymytrova (iriska_dimitrova) on her Instagram page shared a recipe for a cottage cheese berry pita roll.

Recipe for pita roll with cottage cheese and currants


  • pita - 1 sheet
  • cottage cheese - 350 g
  • eggs - 2 pcs
  • vanilla sugar - 10 g
  • sugar - 100 g
  • black currant

Method of preparation:

1. To prepare the filling, you need to mix cottage cheese, vanilla sugar, sugar, egg and egg white. Beat everything with a blender until homogeneous.

2. Spread the filling evenly on the pita sheet. Sprinkle berries on top and wrap into a roll.

3. Place the roll on a baking tray lined with parchment. Grease with a mixture of water (1 tbsp.) and egg yolk. Sprinkle with poppy seeds if desired.

4. Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Enjoy your appetite!
