Chinese-style smashed cucumbers: a classic recipe for a savory snack in 1 hour

Smashed cucumbers are a popular Chinese appetizer. Traditionally, they are pickled with soy sauce, garlic and chili. But the most important thing is to properly prepare the vegetable for cooking, namely to smash them to the point where the cucumbers begin to crack.
Food blogger Oleksiy Kryuchkov (_kruchkov) shared a recipe for pickled beaten cucumbers with soy sauce, sesame seeds, garlic and chili on his Instagram page.
Ingredients:

- sesame oil - 1 tbsp.
- garlic - 3 cloves
- salt - 1 tsp.
- vinegar - 1 tbsp.
- sugar - 1\2 tbsp.
- chili pepper - 1\2 pcs.
Preparation method:
1. Wash the cucumbers, cut off the tails and cut the vegetables in half. Then beat them with a rolling pin (the cucumbers should crack a little). Transfer to a bowl.
2. Add salt to the cucumbers, stir and leave to stand for 10 minutes.
3. Drain the liquid from the cucumbers. Press garlic, add soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped chili, sesame seeds, sugar and vinegar. Stir and leave in the fridge for 1 hour. Bon appetit!
