Better than spread: how to make homemade processed cheese in 15 minutes
Thick processed cheese is very easy to make at home. It is best to make it from cottage cheese and add milk or butter. These ingredients have a high fat content and the finished processed cheese will be thick and very tender.
Food blogger Oksana Bilinska (oxana_bil) shared a recipe for homemade processed cheese on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- cottage cheese – 500 g
- butter – 100 g
- eggs – 1 pc.
- salt – 1 tsp.
- baking soda – 1 tsp.
- spices
Method of preparation:
1. Mix all the necessary ingredients and beat them with an immersion blender until smooth.
2. Put the resulting mass in a water bath and melt the cheese, stirring constantly. It takes about 5-10 minutes.
3. Pour the finished processed cheese into a clean bowl, cover with cling film, and let cool.
