Apple crumble in the oven: how to prepare a special cake without dough
Crumble is a special cake based on shortbread crumbs and a lot of juicy fillings: fruit or berry. This means that you don't need to make dough for baking and to make the filling successful, it should be fried in a pan beforehand.
Food blogger Solomiia Darvin with the nickname solomikadarvin shared a recipe for apple crumble in the oven on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- flour – 110 g
- sugar – 100 g
- butter – 100 g
- apples – 5-8 pcs
- cinnamon – 1 tsp.
- cornstarch – 1.5 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Apples cut into cubes.
2. Grease a frying pan with oil, put apples, and cook for about 10 minutes.
3. Then add the starch and cinnamon to the apples. Stir and cook for a few more minutes.
4. Grind the flour, sugar, and cold butter into crumbs.
5. Grease a baking dish or cover it with parchment. Put the apples and sprinkle them with sugar (if the apples are sour).
6. Put the crumble on top. Bake at 200 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
