American ginger muffin for Christmas: how to make this festive dish

Christmas is a family holiday that smells like tangerines, coziness, and delicious pastries. That's why an American gingerbread muffin is the perfect dessert for this occasion. The dish will go well with your favorite tea, coffee or cocoa. This cake can even be presented as a gift.
The idea of making an American ginger muffin for Christmas was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Natalia with the nickname talli_sun . The dough is very fluffy.

Ingredients:
- sugar - 200 g
- water - 1 tbsp
- butter - 120 g
- milk - 150 ml
- ginger - 0.5 tbsp
- flour - 300 g
- baking powder - 1 tsp.
- eggs - 1 pc.
- zest of 1/2 lemon
- allspice - 0.5 tsp.
- vanilla - 1 tsp.
- salt - 0.5 tsp.
- chopped nuts (you can also add raisins)
Ingredients for the fondant:
- chocolate - 80 g
- butter - 20 g
- milk - 50 ml
- cognac - 1 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Pour sugar with a spoonful of water into a saucepan with a thick bottom.
2. Wait for the mixture to melt (do not stir).
3. When the caramel begins to resemble liquid honey, add butter and mix.
4. After the butter has melted, add milk and cook for 2-3 minutes.
5. Turn off the heat and add ginger.
6. Stir, cover and let cool for 15 minutes.
7. Mix flour, baking powder, salt and pepper.
8. Add beaten egg.
9. Pour the caramel in a thin stream. Mix and add zest, vanilla, nuts, and raisins.
10. Put it in a mold (grease it with oil, sprinkle with flour) and bake for 20-25 minutes at 190 degrees.
11. Let it cool and brush with fondant.
12. For the fondant, melt the chocolate with the butter and milk in a water bath until smooth. Add the cognac.
