"Where are you? I am in Donbas": Svyatoslav Vakarchuk spoke about an unexpected meeting with Ivan Lenyo

Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, a well-known Ukrainian singer and lead singer of the band Okean Elzy, spends a lot of time on the front line supporting Ukrainian soldiers with songs and inspiring words, while Ivan Lenyo, frontman of the folk rock band Kozak System, volunteers on a regular basis and delivers what the military needs. The circumstances were such that the two musicians found themselves together at the same time in the same region and could not help but keep each other company over coffee.

"It's a small world," Vakarchuk wrote on Instagram, attaching a photo of himself and Ivan Lenyo. As the post says, a short phone conversation was an opportunity to see each other and talk.

"When Ivan calls you and asks,

- Where are you?

- I'm in Donbas.

- Me too, he says," Vakarchuk shared part of the conversation.

It took the two men only an hour to reach the "destination" they had agreed upon in the conversation, a local gas station. However, Vakarchuk did not forget to remind fans of the importance of the Ukrainian military, who are defending their homeland from Russian invaders at the front, including how close they are to their comrades.

"An hour later, you are drinking coffee at a gas station. The world is small. The real ones are close. Especially at the front," the singer added.

The photo he posted shows both musicians. Svyatoslav Vakarchuk is holding a cup of coffee in his hand.

Ivan Lenyo posted the same photo on his Instagram, but with a different description. "A duo of moral and psychological support," he captioned the photo, referring to the work that both artists do for the military.

"Lyman, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Orikhiv: these are the concert routes today. Dugouts, bunkers, hospitals: these are the concert venues today. We are keeping the line," the singer added, reporting on the cities and villages to visit for the sake of the military.
