The scandalous participant of the National Selection for Eurovision 2025 refused to participate

The management of the singer TESLENKO, a controversial participant in the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, has announced that the artist is withdrawing his candidacy from further voting. Recently, the names of the 9 contestants who made it to the shortlist were announced. The tenth "lucky one" will be chosen by the audience.

However, TESLENKO will no longer be among them. Earlier, the singer's producer said that the protégé would leave the National Selection if ENLEO, one of the participants who got into a loud scandal for listening to Russian artists, went on to win. According to the official website of Suspilne, the organizing committee agreed to the artist's request and terminated the contract with him.

"Dear friends, we withdrew from the National Selection for Eurovision this year to avoid accusations of hype on a sensitive topic. Suspilne has agreed with our position. Thank you to everyone who supported us. Eurovision is still important to me, so we will definitely hear from you again!" TESLENKO wrote on Instagram.

Now ten young stars and bands will compete for the vacant spot in the final: BRYKULETS, ENLEO, FIЇNKA, GRISANA, MON FIA, Ranrawi, Starykova Hrystyna, YAGODY, MUAYAD, and "Listen to Sasha." Soon, Ukrainians will be able to vote for their favorite in the Diia app, and on January 17, the organizers will publish the full list of contestants. The final itself will take place on February 8, 2025 – that's when European fans will find out who will represent Ukraine in the international arena.
