Oleksii Melchenko, the former bassist of the Ukrainian rock band Vopli Vidoplyasova, has passed away at the age of 48. The musician passed away on October 8, but his family has only just learned of the loss.

The tragic news was shared with the public by the artist's friend Anna Pyatakova on her Facebook page. She honored the guitarist's memory, recalling what a bright person he was in life.

"This will be a post in memory of a person with whom we communicated and were friends when we were 20-25 years old. A sincere, talented man. He loved music and was an extremely talented bass player. Unfortunately, his life ended 10 days ago. Oleksii Melchenko... It's a pity that it happened so early, so sad. Rest in peace, my friend," the woman wrote.

The cause of the musician's death is currently unknown. In the comments below the sad post, fans and friends of Oleksii Melchenko expressed their condolences to the artist's wife and shared photos of the bassist in his youth.
