Ukrainian singer Volodymyr Dantes has apologized for all Ukrainian showbiz performers who used to create Russian-language content. According to the artist, he doesn't want people to feel uncomfortable because of the "changing of the shoes" of stars.

The 36-year-old celebrity said this in a new episode of the SuchSukrMuz podcast. The TV presenter noted that his attitude towards his native language has changed significantly compared to the past.

"I want to apologize to everyone, especially those who write in Russian: "Why doesn't he say that he 're-trained'? Indeed, I made Russian-language music, my grandmother, may she rest in peace, taught Russian language and literature for 40 years. I lived in that as if I was in one world, not always a cool one, and I moved into the world of Ukrainian. No, my native language. I don't like it when people say: "I switched to Ukrainian," the artist said.

Volodymyr Dantes frankly admitted that he used to consider his mother tongue to be the language spoken by his parents. However, he now considers this position to be absolute nonsense. The performer realizes that his mother was also Russianized.

"If I'm still offending you with my ''changing shoes," then I will apologize even from all the artists. If it hurts you that we created something in Russian and now we are doing it in Ukrainian, please forgive us. We won't do it again!" the star said.
