Another singer has announced that she will participate in the National Eurovision Song Contest: Sashko Polozhynskyi likes her voice
Ukrainian singer Polina Dashkova has announced that she plans to take part in the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The 20-year-old artist, who was a participant of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016, hopes to represent Ukraine on the music stage in the Swiss city of Basel next year.
"We are preparing, we are still finalizing the song," the singer told M1's Weekend Show studio. Her colleague, rapper Burla, noted that in order to participate in such a large-scale show, one should "save up some money." Recently, the young performers have collaborated on a new version of the iconic song "Above the Clouds" by Tartak and Katya Chilly.
According to Dashkova, the band's leader, Sashko Polozhynskyi, does not give permission to everyone to cover. However, the artist liked the singer's voice and the rapper's work. "We talked to a lot of artists about the fit, and Sashko didn't approve almost any of them," she recalls. "When we suggested Burla, Sashko reacted great, because he said I was glad that young performers would cover it.
Dashkova even sang a part of the second verse, which was originally "read" by Polozhynskyi. Tartak liked the creative approach of the young musicians. "Young people made their own version. I'm happy – I feel like a master," he wrote on his Facebook page.
