A member of the crew of the Marvel series "Wonder Man" died on the set: what is known

A member of the crew of the Marvel series "Wonder Man" has died

On Tuesday morning, February 6, one of the crew members died on the set of the Marvel Studios' TV series Wonder Man as a result of an accident. He fell from a rafter (a bar or board that forms the roof support for a building's roofing) while working. There was no time to save him.

The Los Angeles County coroner identified the crew member as Juan Carlos Osorio, a 41-year-old rigger who lived in Temple City. This was reported by Variety.

The Wonder Man was not being filmed at the time of the accident. The series is currently on hold.

A Marvel spokesperson commented on the incident: "Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family and friends, and we support the investigation into the circumstances of this accident."

IATSE (International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees) President Matthew D. Loeb also issued a statement, calling the crew member's death a "tragic loss."

"All of our family members are shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic loss. We are working to support our member's family, as well as his friends and colleagues. Safety on set is our highest priority, and we will assist the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration in its investigation in any way we can," Loeb assured.

It should be noted that the premiere date of Wonder Man has not yet been determined, but it is already known that the series will debut on Disney+. The plot will introduce viewers to Simon Williams, the son of a wealthy industrialist whose company Williams Innovations went bankrupt due to competition with Stark Industries. In desperation, Simon turns to Baron Zemo, who gives him superpowers and orders him to infiltrate the Avengers and then betray them. The protagonist does join the Avengers and even becomes one of the founders of the spin-off team, the West Coast Avengers.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that 58-year-old British actor Ray Stevenson, who became famous for his roles in Star Wars, Thor, Divergent, and other films, died in Italy. He became ill on the set of the movie Casino in Ischia.
