Ukraine begins rebuilding the first destroyed village from scratch: details
The Reconstruction Agency has taken the first step in implementing an experimental "build back better" reconstruction project in settlements affected by military operations. A presentation of the reconstruction concept was held in the village of Posad-Pokrovske (Kherson Oblast).
The State Agency for Infrastructure Rehabilitation and Development of Ukraine writes about it. In April, the Government adopted Decree № 382 On the implementation of the pilot project to restore settlements affected by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
"The presentation of the concept is the first step towards the implementation of our ambitious project to restore six settlements in five regions that suffered because of Russia's armed aggression. buildings and structures, and completely with a systematic approach, new layout and complete transformation of the village," said Mustafa Nayem, head of the Reconstruction Agency.
Until November 2022, the occupants shelled the village with all available weapons, the village experienced more than 350 shellings daily. As a result, the infrastructure and private houses of the residents were almost completely destroyed by the aggressor. 100% of buildings and structures of communal and private property were damaged.
As noted, the Agency for Reconstruction is currently carrying out all the necessary work to prepare for the reconstruction of all six settlements. Specialists of the Agency and regional reconstruction services are working with local authorities and preparing for large-scale reconstruction.
