The famous athlete gave a frank interview

Ivan Ordets, the Ukrainian defender of Dynamo Moscow who is on loan at German side Bochum, said it was very difficult for him to stay in Russia after the start of the full-scale invasion. A two-time Ukrainian champion with Shakhtar, when he learned of the outbreak of war, he immediately called the club to announce his position.

Ordets admitted that he immediately decided for himself that he would no longer play for Dynamo.

"It was very difficult. Something died inside me, so to speak. I called the club and announced my position right away," Ordets said in an interview with Inter journalist Roman Kademin on THE GAME YouTube channel.

The 30-year-old Volnovakha native believes he did everything he could do at the time. He could not leave the club, as it was prohibited by FIFA rules.

"My agent contacted FIFA, and they told him that a player has no right to terminate a contract. He can only suspend it. And as soon as FIFA updated the regulations... changed these rules, we used this function the very next day," admitted Ordets.

It is worth noting that at the end of May last year, at the end of the season, Dynamo Moscow held a festive corporate party, where Ivan was present.

The footballer was dancing with his teammates, laughing and celebrating his 9th place in the Russian Premier League.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Ordets left the Russian club only in the fifth month of the full-scale war and moved to the German championship.

Ivan Ordets joined the Moscow team from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2019 and signed a five-year contract.
