Russia passed a law allowing it to take over the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions in the field of sports

The Russian State Duma passed in the second and third readings a bill aimed at the "integration" of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as the "LDPR" into the system of physical culture and sports of the Russian Federation. The document determines how the representatives of the "new regions" will join the Russian Federation, as well as take part in Russian tournaments.
Also in the law is painted the financing of the "new regions".
"Already tentatively planned for 2023 and 2024-25th years about 3.5 billion budget money to restore sports facilities in new regions and, respectively, 1.9 billion - extrabudgetary," said the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports, Dmitry Pirog.
Russian fans were hysterical about this initiative. Russian officials are advised to hurry up, as the number of "new regions" will rapidly decrease.
"The number and names of the new integrated territories are updated in real time. Perhaps so much money will not be needed," they quipped in the comments.
Russians anticipate a grandiose "sawing away" of budgetary funds.
Fans believe that after such laws we should not expect Russia to return to world sport any time soon.
"And then they whine about sports outside of politics, about Russophobia being incited by Anglo-Saxons, Freemasons, Illuminati and Reptiloids," users quip.
