Zelenskyy held talks with the President of Azerbaijan: key issues are named
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. The heads of state discussed possible joint economic projects, as well as bilateral cooperation in trade, economic, energy, humanitarian, and other spheres.
The Ukrainian president also thanked Aliyev for implementing projects to restore the city of Irpin. Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel.
The Head of State expressed confidence that Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations will only get stronger. He noted that the countries constantly support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
The President's Office said that Zelenskyy congratulated Aliyev on his victory in the recent early presidential elections in Azerbaijan. The head of state also noted Azerbaijan's assistance in ensuring the reliable functioning of Ukraine's energy system.
"I thanked Ilham Aliyev for the implementation of projects to restore the city of Irpin and expressed hope for Azerbaijan's further contribution to Ukraine's economic recovery," Zelenskyy said.
The Presidential Administration emphasized that the interlocutors had coordinated future joint efforts. In addition, Zelensky told Aliyev about preparations for the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.
To recap, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks in Munich with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. During the talks, they discussed the preparation of a bilateral agreement on security and defense support for Ukraine.
