Special Representative of China Li Hui visited Ukraine: What he talked about with Kuleba
Chinese special envoy Li Hui paid an official visit to Kiev on May 17. It was announced during the phone conversation between Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and Chinese President Xi Jinping. First of all, the Chinese diplomat met with Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
This is reported on the website of the Foreign Ministry. The politicians discussed interaction between their states, both bilaterally and within international organizations, as well as ways to stop Russian aggression.
"Dmytro Kuleba informed in detail the special representative of the government of the PRC about the principles of restoration of stable and fair peace on the basis of respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He stressed that Ukraine does not accept any proposals involving the loss of its territories or the freezing of the conflict," the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported the theses from the diplomatic negotiations.
The Chinese official will also travel to Russia, Poland, France and Germany as part of a tour to "promote peace talks". He intends to discuss with all parties to the conflict how to "politically resolve" it.
U.S. State Department spokesman Vedant Patel explained that Li Hui's visit to Ukraine was important because it would allow Beijing to learn directly about Kyiv's position on ending the full-scale war unleashed by Russia. According to him, the result of diplomatic efforts must comply with the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, as no one wants this war to end more than the Ukrainians.
The Russian Federation, according to Patel, shows no serious interest in ending the war and, in fact, acts in the exact opposite way, launching missiles and drones at civilians.
Recall: Li Hui has close ties with the terrorist state of Russia, because he worked in Moscow for many years and received Russian awards and personal commendations from dictator Vladimir Putin. Because of this, the appointment of Li Hui as head of the delegation to the special "peace mission" of the PRC was received ambiguously.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL:
- in the EU said that China should push the aggressor country Russia to leave the territory of Ukraine. If this does not happen, relations between the European Union and Beijing will never be able to develop normally;
- Ukrainian President Zelensky said that during talks the Chinese leader Xi Jinping made a promise not to support Russia. We are talking about transferring weapons or other technologies.
