Russia said that it would continue its "special military operation" against Ukraine until it fulfills "all the tasks of ensuring the security" of the Russian Federation. The Kremlin also lied about the country's "openness to negotiations" once again, accusing Ukraine of being the one unwilling to start them.

This was stated by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He also boasted that the occupation army is "moving forward" on the battlefield.

Russian propagandists asked Peskov to comment on Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's statement that the Russian-Ukrainian war will end in 2025 either through negotiations or the defeat of one of the parties.

"We are continuing the special military operation. It is important for us to fulfill all the tasks to ensure the security of our country," the Russian dictator's spokesman said.

Judging by Peskov's statements, the Kremlin continues to portray itself as a "peacemaker" and accuse Ukraine of wanting to continue the war, which, according to him, Russia is allegedly winning.

"We remain open to negotiations. But since there has been no progress in terms of Ukraine's readiness to negotiate, we are continuing our operation. We see the dynamics, the dynamics speak for itself: we are moving forward," Putin's spokesman said, ignoring the price of the advance, namely the enormous losses of manpower in the Russian army.

He also called the fuel spill caused by the Russian oil tankers sinking in the Black Sea a "major environmental disaster." Peskov assured that the issue "remains on the president's list". Still, Moscow is in no hurry to declare a federal state of emergency, citing the expectation of "expert recommendations."

Earlier, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan made an appeal to US President-elect Donald Trump. He emphasized that a peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine could be achieved through pressure on Russia. The "leverage" for the United States in this regard is its continued military support for Ukraine.
