"Putin never plays by the rules": Yermak tells what he talked about with Kellogg
Any peace treaty will not bring real results for Ukraine without significant pressure on the aggressor country, Russia. At the same time, the key task for Russia is to control our country.
The head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, made these statements during a meeting with the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, in Munich. In particular, another important topic of conversation was the coordination of joint efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.
"Putin never plays by the rules. Russians respect only force and despise those who do not use it. Any agreements without strong coercion from Russia will not work – control over Ukraine remains the basis of the Kremlin's imperial ambitions," the statement said.
According to Yermak, joint efforts should make Russia pay the real price for all its crimes. They also discussed the continuation of support for Ukraine.
"This is a matter of security not only for our country but for the whole of Europe and the world. It is much cheaper to help Ukraine now than to confront a stronger Russia later," the head of the OP emphasized.
He added that they also discussed the preparation of the planned high-level meetings and the visit of the US Special Representative to Ukraine.
"I am grateful for the support and willingness to work together to restore justice and security," Yermak summarized.
As a reminder, on February 13, it became known that Keith Kellogg left for Europe on a working visit. There he is to meet with allies and partners to discuss Ukraine and end the war. In particular, the special representative will take part in the Munich Security Conference and visit the headquarters of NATO and the EU in Brussels.
As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, Kellogg said that he would not present a peace plan for Ukraine at the Munich Security Conference. In his opinion, this should be done by US President Donald Trump.
