Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, after his so-called "peace tour," proposed that the European Union restore diplomatic relations with the terrorist country of Russia. The politician also criticized US President Joe Biden.

In his letter to the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, the Hungarian prime minister noted that it was time to establish relations with Russia. This is reported by the German newspaper Bild.

Orban wrote a letter to Michel in which he gave his brief assessment of recent talks with the leaders of Ukraine, China, Turkey, Russian dictator, and American politician Donald Trump. He suggested that the EU leadership consider some of the results of these talks.

The head of the Hungarian government warned that "the intensity of the military conflict in Ukraine will radically increase in the near future." He also suggested holding talks with China on a "peace conference" and restoring diplomatic relations with Russia.

In addition, Orban wants the European Union to launch a "political offensive" against the countries of the Global South, whose "respect we have lost because of our position on the war in Ukraine." The Hungarian prime minister also mentioned his talks with Trump, and at the same time criticized US President Biden. He called the current US policy "pro-war."

At the same time, Orban said that Trump will win the US presidential election in November and will immediately act as a "peace mediator" without waiting for his inauguration.

"I am more than convinced that in the event of President Trump's likely victory, the financial burden between the US and the EU will change significantly in favor of the EU when it comes to financial support for Ukraine," the Hungarian prime minister said.

Earlier, it was reported that six EU countries would boycott ministerial meetings during Hungary's presidency because of Viktor Orban's trip to Russia.

In addition to Putin, Orban also visited Chinese President Xi Jinping. Afterward, he summarized his "tour," claiming that the Kremlin and Beijing are waiting for the start of "peace talks" by the end of 2024.
