Moscow is waiting for a "signal" from the White House regarding a possible future conversation between the Russian dictator and American leader Donald Trump. They claim that Vladimir Putin is already ready to contact the new US administration.

This was stated by his spokesman Dmitry Peskov, without going into specifics. The Kremlin spokesman was quoted by Russian propaganda outlets and Telegram channels.

"Putin is ready for contact with Trump, Moscow is waiting for signals, will inform about a possible conversation in advance," they said in their reports on January 24.

A few days ago, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the Kremlin dictator's contact with Trump "has not yet been agreed upon," but they are "preparing for these talks." Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his deputy Sergei Ryabkov called the war unleashed by Putin a "Ukrainian crisis" and, as usual, talked about their terms of settlement.

As you know, before his inauguration, Donald Trump said that he was going to meet with Putin "very quickly" after he took office. Switzerland and Serbia have announced that they are ready to organize such a meeting. The team of the newly elected US president was also preparing for a telephone conversation with the Russian leader.

At the same time, Trump began threatening Russia with taxes, tariffs, and sanctions on everything it sells in the United States and other countries if the Kremlin did not stop the war against Ukraine and conclude a peace agreement. His special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that Trump is committed to finding a solution to the war within 100 days of his inauguration. According to him, the Republican "is not trying to give anything to Putin or the Russians," but instead seeks to "preserve Ukraine and its sovereignty."

For its part, Bloomberg, citing sources, wrote that during any possible negotiations with Trump, the Russian dictator would continue to insist that Ukraine become a neutral state and that the occupied territories "remain with Russia."

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the day before, on January 23, Donald Trump repeated his statements about the war in Ukraine, the peace agreement, and his intention to meet with Putin at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Against this backdrop, panic was raised in the Russian Federation because the dictator's motorcade allegedly arrived in the Kremlin in the middle of the night.
