Pea soup is a hearty dish that is ideal for lunch. To make sure that everyone really likes this culinary creation, it is essential to cook the main ingredient correctly and choose the right meat for the broth.

The idea of making a rich pea soup for lunch was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Olha Riabenko. Be sure to add dried croutons at the end.

Ingredients:

  • smoked ribs – 400 g
  • split peas – 500 g
  • water – 2.5 liters
  • carrots – 2 pcs
  • onions – 2 pcs
  • large potatoes – 3 pcs
  • turmeric – 1 tsp
  • salt, pepper
  • dill
  • breadcrumbs

Method of preparation:

1. Put the ribs, whole carrots, onions, and chopped potatoes in a saucepan.

2. Rinse the peas, drain them, and put them in the pot.

3. Pour water over everything and cook until the peas are fully cooked.

4. Remove the carrots and onions from the pan. We won't need them anymore. Disassemble the ribs from the bones and chop the meat.

5. In a separate frying pan, fry grated carrots and onions. Add turmeric and fry until the onions are transparent.

6. Add the vegetables and chopped meat to the soup and cook for another 10-15 minutes. Adjust the thickness of the soup with water.

7. Add the chopped dill.

8. Serve with toasted bread or crackers.
