China is ready to cooperate with France

Chinese leader Xi Jinping has stated the need for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. According to him, an escalation of hostilities should not be allowed.

The Chinese president made this statement at a joint conference with visiting French President Emmanuel Macron after their talks at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. This was reported by China Daily.

"China is ready to work with France to urge the international community to maintain rationality and restraint to avoid actions that will further exacerbate or spiral out of control the Ukrainian crisis," Xi Jinping said.

He also called for the resumption of peace talks as soon as possible and the search for a "political solution to the crisis".

It is worth noting that during his talks with Xi Jinping, the French leader first raised the issue of Russia's war against Ukraine. Macron called on the Chinese leadership to "bring Russia to its senses" and "bring everyone" to the negotiating table.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, China has once again called for a diplomatic settlement of the war waged by Russia against Ukraine, calling it the "Ukrainian crisis". It accused "some countries" of deliberately obstructing "peace talks".
