Which river fish is the healthiest: top 3 species
It is generally accepted that sea fish is healthier than river fish. However, not all nutritionists agree. There are also very healthy and tasty species among the river fish that can be caught in the nearest water body.
OBOZREVATEL has compiled a list of three types of fish. All of them are found in the rivers of Ukraine.
This fish contains a lot of vitamins (A, B, C, E, PP) and minerals (iodine, phosphorus, fluorine, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, sulfur), which have a good effect on the condition of the skin and hair, help to improve the functioning of the thyroid gland, and improve immunity. At the same time, crucian carp is not as fatty as sea fish, so it is suitable even for those who count calories very carefully. It also contains a lot of protein. The only problem is that it is a rather bony fish, so you need to eat it slowly.
The meat of the river predator is also rich in vitamins (A, C, E, group B, PP), it also contains large amounts of sodium and phosphorus and a little bit of other important minerals. It is a low-calorie, low-fat fish, especially when consumed in stewed, boiled or baked form. Pike meat is easy to digest and is suitable even for people with digestive problems. It can also be used to make a variety of dishes, from steaks to cutlets.
The percentage of fat in zander meat is almost zero, so it can be considered an absolutely dietary food. At the same time, it contains a lot of nutrients - sodium, potassium, vitamins A, B6, C, niacin, thiamine, iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus. Its consumption has a positive effect on the condition of skin and hair, bones and muscles, and the cardiovascular system. This fish can be given to children - it will help to form healthy and strong teeth due to its phosphorus content.
River fish should be consumed at least twice a week, 150 grams each. Before eating it, it should be subjected to thorough heat treatment, as river fish meat may contain parasite eggs. The temperature will destroy them. It is better to give preference to boiled, stewed or baked dishes, because during frying, the fish gets extra calories, and during smoking or drying, it is not processed deeply enough.
