What to do to keep your hair thick and shiny: 10 main rules

Having fine hair is not always a problem when it comes to fast drying, low styling products and long-lasting hairstyles. However, if you want to improve the quality of your hair and show off your voluminous head of hair, you should reconsider your care routine.
Trichology experts Philip Bee and Carrie Yates told IPSY's editors 10 rules that will help in this mission (scroll to the bottom of the page to see the photos).
- Shampoo for volume. Usually, owners of thin hair choose shampoos for restoration or shine, but it is better to shift the focus to detergents with a volume effect.
- Hair thickening products. When choosing a mask, spray or balm, it is better to focus on products that will visually fill the strands, thickening them.
- Diet. Hair growth and quality depend on nutrition, so you should include foods high in fatty acids, proteins, and vitamins A, B, C, and E in your diet.
- Peeling. The scalp, like the face, sometimes needs additional cleansing when dirt, grease, dust and styling residues accumulate at the roots. If you ignore this step, your hair will grow slowly.
- Thermal damage. One of the causes of problems with hair growth and quality is the use of low-quality thermal devices such as hair dryers, curling irons, straighteners.
- Morning shampooing. Additional care in the form of leave-in conditioners and balms will help to visually improve your hair immediately after styling, while a night's sleep will negate all its beneficial properties.
- Cold air. If you have very little time and need to dry your hair, it is better to use the cold air function. It will take more time, but the strands will definitely be intact.
- Massage. To stimulate the blood circulation of the scalp, you can use the services of a massage therapist or do a massage at home. Even an ordinary comb will do the trick.
- Haircut. Even with the best care, hair deteriorates over time, so you need to cut it regularly. Healthy strands are a sign of well-groomed hair, and split ends will not help create the illusion of long hair.
- No tight hairstyles. A hard elastic band, excess accessories, and overstretched strands can damage hair and cause breakage.
