Health Minister urges not to panic

An explosion at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, if organised by the aggressor country Russia, does not threaten Kyiv. According to available forecasts, the capital is beyond the possible impact of the consequences.

This was stated by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko, according to the We Are Ukraine TV channel. Residents of the capital were urged not to panic and to follow the recommendations of the authorities (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"According to the current forecasts, Kyiv is outside the radiation impact zone (if a terrorist attack is committed at ZNPP - Ed.). Let's do everything possible to prevent this terrorist attack. This is the key task. The second is not to create panic and artificial excitement. "Even if something happens, we should listen to the recommendations. Because the recommendations given in that particular period of time are tied to a specific situation and radiation monitoring," Lyashko stressed.

As a reminder, in his video address on 22 June, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the aggressor country, Russia, could be preparing a terrorist attack at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. Intelligence has information that the occupiers are considering such a scenario and are preparing to commit another crime, the consequences of which will be catastrophic.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine has published advice on what to do in the event of a radiation accident.
