Limescale dissolves in minutes: an easy and cheap way to clean your bathtub
You're probably tired of dealing with stubborn limescale stains in your bathroom or kitchen. This is a very common problem caused by hard tap water. It leaves unsightly yellowish or grayish stains on faucets, tiles, glass, and plumbing fixtures.
Experts recommend removing such deposits as soon as possible - the thinner the layer, the easier it will dissolve and the less effort it will take to clean. A weak acid solution is the best way to deal with the problem. But you can also prepare a homemade cleaner that will have a combined effect - dissolve plaque, remove grease and other contaminants, and gently remove them mechanically. OBOZREVATEL tells you about the miracle recipe.
What is limescale?
But to better combat the problem, you need to understand it better. So it's a good idea to find out what limescale really is. These are solid deposits that form when water with a high content of minerals, especially calcium and magnesium, evaporates or is heated. The higher the content of these minerals, the harder the water is considered to be and the more it will leave limescale.
The main component of such deposits is calcium carbonate. It can accumulate in shower heads, faucets, bathtubs, and toilets. Limescale can also cause problems with your appliances, such as your coffee maker, dishwasher, and washing machine. Limescale buildup can cause these appliances to become less efficient, resulting in higher energy bills and the need for more frequent repairs.
The miracle descaler
This product is based on hydrogen peroxide. It helps to soften limescale. A small amount of baking soda is responsible for removing it. To prepare the solution, you will need
- pharmacy hydrogen peroxide - 1 bottle;
- dishwashing liquid, shower gel, or shampoo - 1 teaspoon;
- baking soda - 1 teaspoon.
All components must be mixed together until a homogeneous liquid is obtained. It is applied to the surface to be treated with a sponge. You can also make lotions with this product if the layer of plaque is thick enough - then cover the surface with a paper towel soaked in the mixture and leave it for 10-60 minutes, depending on the degree of contamination.
Then you just need to rub the problem area with a soft brush. The soap in the product will additionally degrease and clean the surface. Rinse off the remaining product with warm water.
