Hundreds of messages can get lost: why many people misuse Facebook Messenger

Many Facebook Messenger users don't even realise that they can lose a bunch of messages just by not noticing them. The fact is that the app has a hidden section that few people know about.
The folder doesn't show up in the inbox or outbox list and can be filled with dozens of unread emails. Why many people misuse Facebook Messenger, The Sun reported.
How to find the hidden section
The hidden section is also known as 'message requests'. Facebook doesn't have a feature to notify you when there are new requests. What's more, they don't even appear in your regular Inbox.
You can find the hidden folder in the message requests section of the Messenger app or on the Facebook website.
Hidden messages in Messenger
- Open the Messenger application on your smartphone and tap the three-line icon in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
- Find the message request section and tap on it to view unread emails.
There's a separate spam folder, so check it too, just in case, as ordinary messages can get there by mistake.
Hidden messages on Facebook
- Launch Facebook with your browser and click on the Messenger icon.
- Press the three horizontal dots and select 'Message Request'.
The users who have sent you a request won't know if you've seen their messages until you reply.
But beware - once you send a reply message, your accounts will connect, so you can correspond and see all available information in your profile as if you were friends on Facebook.
