How to clean the oven

You don't have to spend money on expensive cleaning products to clean the entire oven from dirt and old grease. There are always ingredients in the kitchen cabinet that will be an effective substitute for household chemicals.

In the absence of regular cleaning, the grease on the grates not only dries to black soot, but also begins to emit an unpleasant odor that will ruin any dish. The Express publication told us how to quickly remove all the dirt in the oven.

Spilled liquids, grease, and food residue should be wiped off the racks and walls of the oven immediately before they burn. In the "Mrs. Hinch's Cleaning Tips" group, users have shared life hacks for cleaning the oven.

The most effective ingredient in the fight against old grease is baking soda. All you need to do is mix baking soda and water to a paste consistency, apply it and leave the oven walls for an hour. The racks are also soaked separately in the soda solution. After that, rinse the oven thoroughly with clean water, remove any residue, and wipe it dry.

Citric acid will help to remove fresh dirt. Mix lemon juice and water in a 1:1 ratio, soak a sponge in the resulting liquid, and wash the oven walls. The acid takes time to work, so leave the solution on for at least 30 minutes and then wipe it off with a clean, damp cloth.

Another life hack is dishwasher tablets. Fill 1-2 tablets with hot water and place them on the bottom of an oven preheated to 100 °C. The high temperature will help to evaporate the liquid, the solution with the tablet will settle on the walls of the cabinet, and the steam will soften grease and carbon deposits. After the water has evaporated sufficiently (usually takes 1-2 hours), remove the container with the solution, wait for the oven to cool down, and wash the cabinet thoroughly with a sponge.

Alternatively, you can use white and apple cider vinegar. Acids will dissolve mineral deposits, dirt, and grease. In addition, vinegar is effective enough to kill some bacteria.
