How to protect plants from aphids
Aphids are capable of spoiling the entire harvest. They feed on the juice of plants, flower buds and young shoots. If aphids are not controlled, they will cause stunted growth and complete crop failure.

Danger of aphids
Aphids harm almost all vegetable and garden crops, affecting, in particular:
- vegetables: cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplants, bell peppers;
- fruit trees: cherries, apples, pears, plums;
- ornamental crops and flowers: lilacs, cherry, roses, begonias, carnations.
The pests eat mainly young and healthy shoots. By drinking plant juices, aphids lead to exhaustion, loss and fall of leaves. In addition, there is a drastic reduction in the volume of green mass.
Aphids also excrete feces that attract ants and other pests with their sweetish odor. The ants actually carry the aphids further to healthy shoots.
Aphids are the causative agents of phytodiseases, with the ability to carry up to a hundred diseases that are harmful to plants.
How to get rid of aphids
Unfortunately, aphids quickly develop immunity to many (even chemical) preparations. Therefore, experienced vegetable gardeners advise combining different means.
The best eco-friendly flyhack is a mixture of aromatic herbs.
Necessary ingredients:
- dried dill;
- garlic;
- bay leaf;
- cloves.
Method of preparation
- Pour 1 liter of water into a pot and add 3 garlic cloves. Boil for 5 minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat. Add a few bay leaves and three dry cloves.
- Pour 2 teaspoons of dried dill into the solution.
Pour the liquid into a container and close the lid. Infusion should not take long, a few hours will be enough.
Aromatic tincture vegetable gardeners advise spraying all the leaves where there are aphids. Processing should be carried out in the evening, after sunset. Pests do not like sharp aromas and will stop attacking the garden and vegetable garden. Spraying can be periodically repeated, especially after rain.
