How to clean yellowed pan walls

Enamel pots are known for their versatility. They can be used on almost any appliance: gas, electric, or induction hobs, as well as ovens and combi ovens. They are easy to care for and relatively environmentally friendly as no metal ions or harmful substances get into the food during cooking.

Enamel pots are resistant to high temperatures and are generally durable. However, there is one problem. A yellowish coating often remains on the walls, which cannot be removed with conventional means. Read the OBOZREVATEL article to find out how to whiten an enamel pot so that it shines like new.

Over time, white enamel walls acquire an unpleasant yellow tint. In general, this happens under the influence of any colored food: after cooking beets, the color of the walls will generally turn brownish-brown.

Cleaning experts recommend preparing a special mixture that will clean the surfaces in no time.

The necessary ingredients:

  • soap (preferably laundry soap)
  • hydrogen peroxide
  • water

For your convenience, we publish step-by-step instructions.

Step 1. Pour water into the enameled pot. The water level should cover the contaminated areas.

Step 2. Add a few drops of hydrogen peroxide.

Step 3. The product will start to work under the influence of high temperatures. So put the pot on the stove and bring the water to a boil.

Step 4. When the water boils, add the laundry soap. It should be grated beforehand. For 1 liter of water, you need 1 tablespoon of soap.

Step 5. Leave the pot on the stove. The product should boil over low heat for 20 minutes. Then turn off the stove, but do not rush to drain the contents of the pan. Let it cool completely.

Warning. Soap in hot water will foam very strongly. Thus, make sure that the foam does not spill out of the pot.

By the way, burnt pots can also be cleaned with environmentally friendly products. For example, vinegar. Experts say that vinegar is an ideal tool for removing carbon deposits. And if you add a little salt to it, you can get the perfect detergent. Read the article to learn how to wash pots with vinegar and what other life hacks you can use.
