Kitchen hoods get dirty quickly, drawing in foreign odors, steam and grease. Droplets of dirt are constantly deposited on its surface. During daily use, the hood is regularly covered with a layer of grease, which must be cleaned in good time.

Soda and detergent

Manufacturers advise to clean hoods with a slightly soapy, not very concentrated detergent solution. But it may not be able to cope with old grease stains. So experts suggest increasing the effectiveness of the soap solution by adding baking soda to it.

The recipe is simple: pour hot water into a container and add ¼ cup of baking soda. Mix thoroughly and dilute with a few drops of detergent. The grease filter from the hood should be immersed in a container with water for at least 10 minutes. Then rinse it with clean water.

Laundry soap

This method was often used by our grandmothers, for whom laundry soap was a lifesaver from heavy soiling. Take a pot, heat at least 2 liters of water in it. Grate soap on a grater, half a bar should be enough. Wait until the soap dissolves, remove the pot from the stove and wash the filter in the solution for 10 minutes. For greater efficiency, a few tablespoons of baking soda can be added to this solution.

Vinegar

It is recommended to soak the filter in table vinegar for 10-15 minutes and wipe the surface of the hood with a sponge soaked in it. But please note that vinegar has a very strong concentrated odor, so afterwards you should wash the hood very carefully, several times with a normal detergent.

Citric acid

Cut the lemon in half and rub the juice on the surface of the hood and filter. Do not rinse with water immediately. The acid should act within 10 minutes.

Or buy citric acid in the supermarket, for 2 liters of water you need to take 3-4 bags. Soak the filter in the solution for at least 6 hours, it is better to leave it overnight to wash it with warm water in the morning.
