Life hacks for cleaning

Spring is a time of renewal and general cleaning. Some things can become real breeding grounds for bacteria and provoke mold, so you should approach the cleaning process with special care.

According to expert Dejan Dimitrov, there are at least five areas that are regularly overlooked during cleaning. This leads to the accumulation of bacteria and unpleasant odors. The details were reported by The Sun.

Wooden cutlery and boards

Wooden kitchen utensils look more aesthetically pleasing than plastic tools, but there are certain risks. Harmful bacteria quickly accumulate in the cracks of wooden spoons. Regular washing will not always help get rid of all the germs.

The expert recommends periodically soaking any wooden utensils in 2 liters of warm water mixed with a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide. Cutting boards should be dried vertically to avoid moisture accumulation.

Protective gloves

Oven oven gloves are an ideal breeding ground for bacteria, as crumbs and food residue accumulate on the surface. However, many people bypass them when collecting laundry.

While silicone gloves need to be hand-washed, most cloth gloves can be added to a weekly load of laundry. You can also pretreat them in a solution of warm water, 1 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid, and 1 tablespoon of baking soda to get rid of bacteria.

Toaster

The crumb tray can be easily overlooked during your daily kitchen cleaning. Begin by unplugging the toaster and gently using a clean, dry toothbrush to remove any loose crumbs. Remove the tray and use detergent to clean any sticky stains.

Shower curtains

Shower curtains can be one of the dirtiest places in your home. They should be cleaned at least once a month to prevent mold and fungal spores.

Toilet brush

Toilet brush can be a source of a pungent odor if it is not washed in time. The fastest way is to use baking soda. Just pour baking soda into the container with the brush and add a little vinegar. Wait until the chemical reaction produces foam. After 40 minutes, you can wash off the residue under warm water.

By the way, vinegar will also come in handy when washing the brush.
