Air defence forces shoot down more than 20 missiles over Kyiv at night: debris damages residential building, fatalities

On the night of Saturday, 24 June, the Air Defence Forces in the airspace around Kyiv detected and destroyed more than 20 rockets fired by the Russian occupants. In the Solomensky district, debris from the missile damaged the upper floors of a high-rise apartment building: two people were killed and 11 injured.
This was reported by the head of the Kyiv city military administration, Serhiy Popko, according to the CGVA's Telegram channel. It noted that this was already the eighth Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital in June.
Popko specified that the enemy once again used its usual tactics - strategic bombers Tu-95MS launched X-101/555 missiles from the Caspian Sea area.
As a result of the debris falling in the Solomensky district of the capital, several floors of a 24-storey building collapsed and caught fire. Two people were killed and 11 injured.
"As a result of debris hitting a 25-storey building in the Solomensky district, there was partial destruction of building structures on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th floors (18th-most) of the building with fires in separate cells on the floors. The fire was localised at 04:40 and extinguished at 06:30. As a result of the attack, 11 people were injured with varying degrees of severity, 3 of them hospitalised. The bodies of two dead people have been found," said KMBA chief Serhiy Popko.
He added that 24 people were rescued, of whom three were rescued from under the rubble and one more from the lift. At least 40 cars parked near the building were damaged.
A total of 90 people and 22 vehicles of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, in particular two canine units, were involved in the response to the falling debris. The psychologists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are working at the site: psychological assistance has been provided to 15 people.
"Two people died as a result of rocket debris hitting a multi-storey building in the Solomensky district. Two of the victims were hospitalized, while 9 people were treated by medics on the spot. Search and rescue work in the house continues. Now 22 people have been rescued from the house," Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klychko said.
"The information is being clarified. All emergency services are working on the spot," the statement said.
According to the National Police of Ukraine, the enemy fired on the capital around 03.20 hours.
"Law enforcers found the body of a woman born in 1969 near the house, and another person is known to have died, his personal details are being established. More than 40 cars were damaged by the debris," the report said.
As OBOZREVATEL reported, the occupying Russian troops launched a massive cruise missile attack on Ukrainian cities on the night of 24 June. In Kyiv, debris from the missile fell on a residential building, while in Dnipropetrovsk a private sector was damaged. Explosions were also heard overnight in Kryvyi Rih and Mykolaiv, and there are arrivals in Kharkiv.
