A Russian reconnaissance UAV was shot down over Kyiv during a night alert

On the night of May 7, the aggressor country Russia launched a reconnaissance drone toward the Ukrainian capital. During the air alert, the enemy UAV was shot down by our air defense forces.

This was reported by the head of the Kyiv city military administration Sergei Popko. Operational information about the enemy's night attack appeared in the KCMA Telegram channel after 6 o'clock on Sunday.

It should be noted that the air alert in Kyiv continued since the previous day for 2 hours. 4 min (22:24 - 01:09) and then another minute (01:13 - 01:14). On the territory of Kyiv region - first 15 min (01:12 - 01:28) and immediately after that another 43 min (01:29 - 02:12).

Sometime during this time an enemy reconnaissance UAV was detected in the airspace above Kyiv.

"The forces and means of anti-aircraft defense destroyed the drone," Popko noted.

Preliminarily, there is no information about casualties or destruction as a result of the neutralization of the Russian drone, but the data is still being verified.

The head of KCMA once again urged Kyiv residents not to disregard the air-raid alarms.

"Take care of yourself and your loved ones!" - he stated.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, in the evening of May 4, the defenders of the sky shot down a Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 drone in Kyiv. The Air Force of the AFU explained that over the UAV was lost control, it could cause damage.
